Beef burgers contaminated with HORSE MEAT found on sale in four major British supermarkets

Four major supermarket chains operating in Britain – Aldi, Iceland, Lidl and Tesco – are withdrawing a number of beef products after horse DNA was found in burgers sold by them in the UK and Ireland.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI), which made the discovery, said the burgers were produced by two meat processing plants in Ireland, Liffey Meats and Silvercrest Foods, and by the Dalepak Hambleton plant in the UK.
In nine of the 10 burger samples from the four retailers, and from the Irish chain Dunnes Stores, horse DNA was found at very low levels. However, in one sample, Tesco Everyday Value Beef Burgers, the level of positive DNA indicated horsemeat accounted for 29% relative to the beef content. Many of them were also found to contain pig DNA. The FSAI said the retailers have agreed to remove all implicated batches from sale. Click below for full story -

That’s disgusting. Don’t they normally put horse meat into dog food!
These guys should get a very heavy fine
Has anyone got sick from eating these burgers?
How does horse meat even end up in a food factory making burgers for human consumption
Damn if I ate one of these burgers I would call my lawyer asap
Your all missing the point….
Did they taste good?
If that happened in America people would get their ass sued!
Was this an accident or were the retailers trying to cut costs by using cheaper meat
The real problem here is that everyone wants everything for cheAp. Cheap food, Cheap clothes, cheap alcohol ect
Therefore of course retailers are going to use cheap stuff to sell you their product for cheap
